THAT WAS NO LADY: Kesaraporn Duangsawan, was named first runner-up in the Miss Media beauty contest in Ratchaburi, Thailand, but her terrible secret soon came to light. Kesaraporn is a man. Pageant organizers discovered this when other contestants, who were in a position to know, lodged complaints.
He was disqualified.

IS THERE A MERIT BADGE FOR THAT? A 12-year-old Boy Scout got into a sexual affair with his scoutmaster's 38-year-old wife. The woman pleaded guilty to having sex with the kid nine times, and is serving four years in a Barnstable, Mass., jail.
Her husband was accused of setting the whole thing  up, but he was acquitted.

CALL OF THE WILD, SUBURBAN-STYLE: Two deer, deep in the mating season in Colorado, saw their reflection in the window of Kathryn MacGregor's Boulder home, mistook it for a challenge from another deer, and charged. MacGregor was upstairs when she heard the animals crashing around in her family room, desperately seeking a way out of the house. She fled and called animal control officers who subdued them. "They pretty much left me with a big mess," she said.
 "There was blood everywhere."

KEEP DEMAGOGUERY ALIVE: W. Michael Altman formed a new church in Munhall, Pa., which he called "a new ministry reaching a new generation," and then, police say, swindled his parishioners senseless, using church money for limousines, vacations in Florida and Cancun, Mexico and other luxuries. He was also charged with forcing a secretary to have sex. Altman denies all unpastor-like behavior.

TAKE THAT, COPPER! Someone picked up a Holyoke, Mass., police cruiser with a bucket loader from a nearby construction site and dropped it on a police pickup truck at the municipal garage.
Both police vehicles were totaled.
