SO LONG AND THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, MONTEE: Theodore Banks, who the cops say is a long-time flimflam man, was arrested in Durham, N.C., for trying to swindle a guy out of $10,000. Bail bondsman Montee Spells got him released by posting a $100,000 bond, which, unfortunately for Montee, was underwritten by a company that was banned from doing business. What this means is, if Banks doesn't show up for trial, Montee Spells, the bondsman, has to pay the $100,000.
The smart money says that Mr. Banks will not be seen again in North Carolina any time soon.

THE RATINGS WEREN'T THE ONLY THING THAT WENT UP: In "Somebody Is Observing Us," a hidden-camera reality show on Turkish television, people who are filmed in their homes try to live the most interesting life in order to win cash prizes. A 35-year-old mother of two decided to go for broke by entering into a blazing sexual liaison with a 19-year-old.
Alas, that was too much for the conservative broadcasting censors who cancelled the show because it "contravened general moral codes, social order and Turkish family makeup."

WHAT, AND LEAVE SHOW BUSINESS? Some players on the Cal State Fullerton baseball team dropped into the Flamingo Theater for a night of relaxation watching naked ladies strut their stuff when who should they see dancing in the buff but Leilani Rios, a member of their school's cross country track team. Ultimately, word got back to her coach, who issued an ultimatum: either quit stripping or turn in your cleats.
If you want to see her, stop by the Flamingo.

YOU DON'T SMELL FAMILIAR, CHOMP! A bunch of sheriff's deputies were chasing a robber through Stuart, Fla., when one of them released a police dog to finally bring the man down. But as the animal sped toward his target, Deputy Jonathan Horowitz, also involved in the pursuit, came around a truck and into the animal's line of sight. The dog bit the deputy instead.
A sheriff's spokesman Mark Weinberg, explained the mistake: "The dog doesn't know every deputy by scent."

ANYWAY, WE HOPE YOU'VE LEARNED YOUR LESSON: Ivan Boroughs has been released from a jail in Kingston, Jamaica, where he had been locked up in for smashing a window at a bank. He had been imprisoned for 29 years. Officials said the court was aware of his case, but had been slow to act.
Boroughs, 76, said, "It's a long time to be in jail and I'm still upset."
