October 13, 2002 OH SURE, WE'LL HELP YOU: Two armed men stormed into a Pizza
Hut restaurant in Boston, tied up the employees and waited for the
time-delayed safe to open. But it turned into a hostage situation when
the cops closed in. YOU MIGHT CALL THEM GUARD BEES: A man set up a
marijuana-growing operation in his barn in Kirkville, N.Y., and
surrounded it with beehives to protect it, police said. RACIST? WHO, US? A group holding an anti-racism conference in Barbados threw out all the white people at the meeting. SUDDENLY, I FEEL HAPPY: A sofa filled with cocaine was
transported from Texas to New York in a U-Hail trailer attached to a
pickup truck, and then the vehicle, trailer and sofa was abandoned on a
Manhattan street where it sat for more than two months. ONE DETERMINED DRUNK DRIVER: A man was stopped for speeding
and drunk driving in Sweden as he drove home to Norway, but police only
confiscated his drivers license and let him go.
