THAT CAT SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER: When a neighbor's cat wandered onto his property, a Gillette, Wyo., man captured the animal and held it for a $50 ransom. He claimed it was legal to hold the animal, because it has been "trespassing."
Police arrested him after he led them on a brief chase around his yard.

SHOP 'TIL YOU GET ARRESTED: A Berlin man described as an obsessive shopper used stolen credit cards to purchase almost $300,000 worth of goods. It wasn't the merchandise he wanted, just the thrill of shopping. For example, police found 200 pairs of shoes in his home, and many of the boxes had never been opened.

SPECIAL MEMORIES FOR THE BRIDE: Police were called to a wedding reception in Gainesville, Fla., because the drunken wedding party was being extremely rowdy. The best man and his father tried to interfere with the cops and were arrested for disorderly intoxication.
The police left but were called back later due to more disorderly conduct.

THE SCENE NEEDED MORE PASSION: A pornographer got permission to film inside the church of San Vicenzo, Italy, because he told the pastor that he was a legitimate filmmaker and needed to use the church to shoot a wedding scene. He neglected to mention the scene would feature a man dressed as a priest having sexual intercourse with the woman playing the bride.
A local resident saw the resulting film and recognized the church. Scandal ensued.

THAT'LL TEACH THOSE WASPS A LESSON: A man emptied a whole can of insect spray on a wasp's nest hanging from the roof outside his apartment in Zurich, Switzerland. To finish the job he lit the nest on fire which soon went out of control and destroyed his apartment.
