HEY, I KNOW HER: Oblivious to firefighters blocking off a washed out road in Winfield, W.Va., a woman drove right past them and into the water. Her dramatic rescue was filmed by a TV crew and broadcast.
That would have been a happy ending had not a deputy sheriff been watching CNN at the time. He had arrested the woman previously for driving while intoxicated and knew her drivers license was suspended. This led to her arrest.

GOING FOR THE GRAND PRIZE: In an effort to raise the level of public morality in Russia, law enforcement officials are considering fines for couples caught kissing on Moscow's subways.
The amount of the fine will be determined by how far the couples go.

CIVIC DUTY DONE, NOW I CAN REST: A woman cast her vote for a city council race in Ocilla, Ga., which resulted in a tie, and then died on Election Day. She won't be voting in the runoff.

COPS!? OUT HERE!? Competition for the best waves in the oceans of Sydney, Australia, is so intense that local surfers have come to blows with visiting surfers.
